Workshops

What to expect in MHFA & compassion fatigue sessions.

Practical answers to help you plan training for your team.

Participants learn how to recognize signs of mental health challenges and substance-use concerns, offer initial help through a practical action plan, and guide someone toward appropriate professional, peer, or self-care support. The course builds confidence, reduces stigma, and increases mental health literacy across the whole team.

Compassion fatigue workshops focus on recognizing secondary traumatic stress, vicarious trauma, and burnout in helping roles. Participants learn how these stressors show up individually and organizationally, explore evidence-based resilience strategies, and leave with practical tools for self-regulation, boundaries, and sustainable care.

Sessions are interactive, discussion-based, and grounded in real-world scenarios. I facilitate in person or virtually, in full-day, half-day, or multi-module formats depending on your team’s needs. Every session includes time for reflection, practice, and Q&A so participants can apply what they learn immediately.

MHFA workshops are valuable for anyone in the organization: frontline staff, supervisors, executives, and volunteers. Compassion fatigue sessions are especially useful for teams in direct-service, clinical, education, or crisis-response roles. I can tailor the audience and examples to your specific sector.

MHFA participants who complete the full course receive a Mental Health First Aid certification valid for three years. Compassion fatigue workshops are typically delivered as professional development or team training; custom certificates of attendance can be provided on request.
